Pulmonary Hypertension
What is pulmonary hypertension?
Pulmonary hypertension (PH) is a condition characterized by high blood pressure in the arteries in your lungs. If you have PH, the blood vessels that carry blood from your heart to your lungs become narrowed and hardened. Due to this, your heart works harder to pump blood to your lungs. Over time, your heart can weaken which can be life-threatening. The signs and symptoms of PH develop slowly and you may not notice them at first.
PH is classified into five World Health Organization (WHO) groups.
